The builders are busy, setting up the new Amundsen brewpub in central Oslo. If this place will look like a million other British or Irish styled pubs, there is a reason.The reason is called Andy Thornton. There are books to be bought payable per foot, there are new enamel signs made to look like old ones.
It’s not like I’ve suddenly become a preacher against capitalism. But I have some mixed feelings – maybe more modern steel and glass furniture is more honest than a container full og fake antiques?
Right now it looks like a mess, but it will open on 17 February. That is the positive side of using a company like this – they know how to get the job done on time.
Will there be any of their own brews ready for the opening? I don’t know – but I will let you know!
