For the first time in many years, there will be a large scale beer festival in Oslo. It will take place in a municipal park about ten minutes by bus or tram from Central Oslo. Øl og mat (Beer and food) will take place 17-21 June.

The organisers are working on the programme and the list of exhibitors now, so there are few details as yet. They promise 250 beers, and several Norwegian micro breweries will be present.

I am not involved in this at all, but I can only wish the organisers the best of luck and hope that this will be an eye opener for many to the world beyond pale lager. And lets hope for good weather!

Tickets are on sale already, 100 kroner includes a souvenir glass, two beer vouchers and a printed programme. Beer samples are 20 kroner each, I don’t know how big they will be.

An enthusiastic write up in Aftenposten if your Norwegian is up to it.
