I have often wondered why German cheese is (with a handful of specialities as exceptions) so dull, surrounded as they are on three sides by the great cheese nations Netherlands, France and Switzerland. Or perhaps that’s the very reason.

I’ve first heard about the business model of the Swedish monopoly from a Swede friend of mine. What I don’t remember, though, is whether the client has to pay for the delivery, if there is a minimum order, etc. Either way, it’s got a huge advantage over the free market. Here in CZ, for example, if you live in a small town, all you will find is the big brands with a regional one, at best. If you want something else, you’ll have to travel or find an e-shop.

I know you asked about this before, but I forgot to answer then: While I understand some with my ailing Swedish, it would be really interesting to read the complete descriptions of these Norwegian microbreweries in English as well.
