Who would have thought, just a year or two ago, that we would have a BrewDog beer on Norwegian supermarket shelves? Specially brewed for Norway?
And I’m not talking about any exclusive shop with deli and manned fish and cheese departments, but you basic no frills discount chain. I think their Scandinavian importer has done some serious salesmanship here.
They are not on the shelves of every REMA 1000 shop yet. If it’s not in your local shop, ask them to add it to their range.
It’s a red and fruity ale, packed with citrus hops. Quite a contrast to the bland lagers they usually carry.

interesting stuff – brewed for Norway, you say. Good effort, then, on BD’s part.
Rema 1000 has been doing some interesting moves lately. Adding a Brew Dog beer to their beer shelves is nothing but fantastic, and I will check out the local supermarkets tomorrow.
Do not forget that Rema 1000 also sells the great Bernard lager from the Czech Republic, and that Budvar is another recent and excellent addition.
That’s good news. Never mind all the super strong weird beers — Brewdog’s real achievement is muscling their way onto supermarket shelves next to all those bland lagers. It’s a great brand and the bottles look cool. If I was a buyer for a supermarket chain, I’d snap it up.
I have visited several Rema 1000 shops during the last few days, and none of them sells Brew Dog beers. Could it be that this is a local project for Rema 1000 in Oslo?
I think it’s initially in the OSlo area, but you can always ask them to order for you!
